SIBLINGSHIP DNA TESTING

Siblingship test determines the likelihood that two individuals are related as brothers/sisters (siblings.)

It can help determine several types:

  • Full sibling vs. Half sibling
  • Half sibling vs. Unrelated

In a full siblingship test, the two individuals are known to share one biological parent (usually the mother), and the test is performed to see if they share the other parent, which would be the father. In this case they would try to prove they are full siblings.

In a half siblingship test, two individuals are tested to see if they share one biological parent. In most of our cases, we test two individuals with different mothers to see if they share the same father.

In order to increase the possibility of higher probability, we highly encourage the mother of one of the siblings to be included in the testing process.

Siblingship tests are used to provide additional evidence of family relationships in situations where the alleged father is unavailable for a paternity test.

Siblingship tests are also used in verifying biological family members of an adoptee or siblings who were separated at birth. DNA Test Results of a siblingship test may be used as proof in Social Security benefit and other inheritance claims, or just for personal reasons.

All of our genetic DNA testing are reviewed and reported by our AABB Accredited lab using state of the art equipment and DNA science that will examine 18 genetic markers.
