A privacy notice is a promise. MVP Testing will promise you that any information we collect from you will only be used by MVP Testing and its DNA laboratory. Such information will not be shared with anyone for any reason unless required by law. A DNA test is covered by HIPAA, a Federal Law governing the use of your health information. Which information does MVP collect and why?

Legal DNA tests require the following personal information be collected from all DNA test participants. This information includes; Legal Name, Date of Birth, Race/Ethnicity, Gender, Date samples are collected, Informed Consent.

The information above is used to ensure that Legal DNA results are NOT fraudulent. A legal DNA test result may be used in a court of law or by another government agency to legally enforce paternity, child support, social security, etc. To further ensure that the persons listed on a legal DNA report are correct, the following information may also be collected. Photocopies of Government issued Photo Identification cards such as Driver Licenses, Passports, ID Cards, University or College issued ID cards. Photocopies of Identification Documents such as Hospital Issued Birth Notices, Birth Certificates, and MVP Testing may also collect photos of DNA test participants. Upon testing, your personal DNA profile will be generated.

How You Can Access Or Correct Your Information?

You can access all of your personally identifiable information that we might collect by contacting us and requesting it at any time. You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that credibly shows error. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.
